Our team
Lois Frankel is a clear-headed lawmaker with a strong record of delivering for her community and standing up to powerful interests. A lifelong public servant, Lois has dedicated her career to creating opportunity, protecting freedoms, and fighting for the people of South Florida.
She spent 14 years in the Florida State Legislature, where she made history as the first woman to serve as Democratic Minority Leader. As Mayor of West Palm Beach, she led the city through eight years of growth and revitalization, expanding public services and improving quality of life.
Since 2013, Lois has proudly represented Florida’s 22nd congressional district and the Palm Beach County community in Congress. She serves on the powerful House Appropriations Committee, where she is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs. She also serves on the Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, where she fights for investments in health care, education, and economic opportunity.
A longtime advocate for women and families, Lois founded the Democratic Women’s Caucus and now serves as Chair Emeritus, continuing her leadership in pushing for policies that promote equity, justice, and opportunity for all.
